I’ve worked in high tech for many years and been right in the heart of the action as hundreds of new technical innovations have come to life. Now, in my role at POST Luxembourg’s TERALINK unit, I am part of a team that consistently turns future technologies into today’s realities. That’s why I’m looking forward to sharing with you the insights I gain as I work to ensure that leading- edge companies have the high bandwidth connectivity solutions they need to bring exciting new products and services to market.
Along the way, I’ll also talk about why Luxembourg has become a key hub where these fast-moving e-companies find a favourable business environment and a powerful ICT infrastructure.
To start, I’d like to tell you that the entire TERALINK network is 100 Gb/s ready! Now counted among the fastest networks in Europe, the first link – Luxembourg/Frankfurt – has recently been established in cooperation with Alcatel-Lucent. This speed, coupled with redundant routes and connections to 16 European POPs, is of special interest to the companies in the financial sector and the European institutions since they need high-bandwidth and low latency along with secure and reliable data services. But it will also clearly please businesses and consumers around the region.
With this state-of-the-art 100G optical and 100GE IP network, Luxembourg’s position as a key hub for datacentres and multi-media content hosting and distribution is reinforced. Plus, it is even more attractive for e-commerce, broadcasting, online gaming, media and content companies.
So now that the once future 100G network is here today, what’s next? Let me know what you think the next advance in broadband connectivity will be.
